Metro East Litigators Provide Compassionate Guidance to the Injured and Their Families

At the law firm John J. Hopkins & Associates, in Alton, Madison County, Illinois, our attorneys and support staff believe in helping clients get what they deserve through experienced representation and compassionate service. Our lawyers have been representing clients in the Metro East area for almost 40 years. As a result of our work, we have recovered millions of dollars in settlements and judgments for thousands of clients.

As the son and grandson of ironworkers, Mr. Hopkins was taught the value of hard work at an early age. Working out of Ironworkers Local 392 in East St. Louis, Illinois, he financed his college and law school by working in the trade. The lessons learned on the job site have guided him well through his 38 years of practice, representing the interests of working men and women throughout the Southern Illinois area.

Mr. Hopkins was recommended by his peers in Personal Injury law. Only five percent of the licensed lawyers in Illinois have been so selected in recognition of their ability. He was also selected as a member of the American Bar Foundation, an award reserved for less than one percent of the entire legal profession. In addition, Mr. Hopkins earned Martindale-Hubbell’s highest “AV” rating for legal acumen and ethics and listed in the Bar Register of Preeminent Lawyers.

At John J. Hopkins & Associates we have a solid track record of success and continue to offer state-of-the-art equipment and technology for clients. While our results are often large, the firm has remained small enough to provide personal attention and sympathy that people need when dealing with issues that include:

  • Medical malpractice, including hospital negligence, medication errors, and failure to diagnose

  • Birth injuries, including pre-term delivery, shoulder dystocia, Erb’s palsy/brachial plexus injury, and cerebral palsy

  • Nursing home neglect and abuse

  • Car accidents

  • Trucking accidents

  • Wrongful death

  • Employment law, including sexual harassment, discrimination, and wrongful termination
